It all started with 2 fitness fans 💪💪, 4 torn up workout hands 🤚🖐🤚🖐 and 1 niche market 🏋️‍♀️🏋️‍♂️ Here's how our simple idea became the go-to hand care product for functional fitness athletes... Tear Care is the brainchild of a couple of hard-working fitness fans.
Tired of the toll that lifting weights, manual work and everyday wear and tear took on their hands, they scoured the market high and low for a nourishing treatment to soothe and protect their hands.
But they found that all the suggested hand treatments were too oily, too creamy, too fussy, too irritating, or just plain didn’t work.
So, adding to the dry, sore, callused and cracked state of their hands was a maximum dose of frustration.
Until, one day, they decided to create (translation: befriend some lovely scientists and health experts) the ultimate solution.
The treatment brief was simple.
This miracle hand balm had to treat and relieve dry, sore, cracked and chapped hands while providing temporary protection for these minor skin irritations.
It would also need to help speed up the whole healing and recovery process, too. (We’re the impatient type).
Working with the lab-based experts, we combined beeswax, coconut oil, tea tree and Manuka honey (simple and natural ingredients known for their healing and protecting powers) to create Tear Care: a skin conditioning balm that’s most effective when applied at night and left to work its magic while you catch some z’s!
Need a little extra TLC?
We found that some skin types were more sensitive than others. So we went back to the lab and swapped tea tree for vitamin E – which acts as an antioxidant that’s known for protecting cell membranes to promote healthy skin.
The result is Tear Care Super Soft – a milder version of our original Tear Care hand balm that’s so mild that it’s suitable for babies, toddlers and anyone with sensitive skin.

This is a huge big deal for me... 18 months ago, I tore the skin between my finger and hand. It became infected and took 10 months to heal! After 8 months without a tear, I tore it last week. I found this @tear_care in my gym bag, which was a prize from a few years ago.
